I loved World’s Greatest Dad and I liked the concept of this movie so I was really looking forward to it. But after the thesis is stated in the first few minutes of the movie it just gets redundant. The message is never escalated past the opening few scenes and then it just goes on for another 90 minutes. Also can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop with the I am an adult befriending a smart ass teenage girl? Why is this such a recurring trend in indie films? Maybe this is meant as a critisism of that trend but if it is I didn’t see anything in the movie to support that.
I thought it started good, then got OK, but the scene in which the female co-star spouts off some monologue slagging off Diablo Cody it lost me. It came off as totally mean and unnecessary. Also ragging on the dialogue in Juno still? Very old news. Very disappointing.
