Saw this years ago, then read and saw The Hunger Games, and so I just got the Blu-Ray set and wanted to revisit. Still violent and nutty with some pitch black comedy thrown in. Totally over the top I still find it entertaining but I am not quite sure this is a great movie that some nerds want to think it is. Its way trashier than I think people seem to say. Also why is there an opening explaining the world in which the film is set then the kids are gathered and it is explained to them so we are siting there watching it explained twice in a row. Also the competition has happened before and the kids act like they have no idea what is going on. How is that even possible. Entertaining and bloody but I don’t think I find this to be as deep and profound as some people make it seem.
