Apollo 18 (2011)

Director: Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego

Writers: Brian Miller and Cory Goodman

(Story by Cory Goodman)

I am not going to write too much about this one as there really isn’t much to write about.  Awful and worst of all boring.  I can’t believe this even got a theatrical release.  I really think this is a good concept for a movie and maybe in the future they can revisit it and seriously rework the execution.

The setup is that there was a lost Apollo mission that the government covered up and this film is the culmination of all of the lost footage.  The first error is the found footage conceit.  It adds nothing to the movie and really doesn’t make much sense in the context.

The biggest problem is that this thing is just boring and nothing really happens.  Without credits the movie is only 73 minutes long and it feels like twice that.  I would really not understand or take seriously anyone who finds real value in this thing beyond what not to do with a found footage Horror movie.
