It Happened One Night (1934)

Director: Frank Capra

Writers: Robert Riskin

(Based on a short story by Samuel Hopkins Adams)

Saw this at the Count Basie theatre for free.  Almost walked out like 10 minutes in because the sound made the dialogue borderline unintelligible but once it got going it got better.  Interesting how since 1934 the formula for romantic comedies hasn’t changed much.  Two people meet under extreme circumstances, hate each other through most of the run time and are mean to each other, and then at the end realize they loved each other the whole time.  Overall enjoyable just wish it had better sound.
