Annie Hall (1977)

Annie Hall

Director: Woody Allen

Writers: Woody Allen and Marshall Brickman

Of course I have seen this one before but it has been a long time so I decided to revisit.  I don’t really know what I could possible add to the conversation.  Woody Allen is a great writer and performer but also a director.  I love the way his movies look and the way he shoots them.

I wonder if the footage from the movie this was originally going to be exists any more.  The story is that the film was originally called Anhedonia and involved a murder mystery with the romance featured in the finished film being a sub plot.  Apparently after making a 140 minute rough cut the murder plot was abandoned.  I don’t know if any of the actually exists in filmed form but apparently the script is out there.  Knowing that Allen doesn’t do special features or alternate cuts for DVD I doubt any of it would ever be seen anyway but it would certainly be interesting.
