Director: James Whale
Writers: Garrett Fort & Francis Edward Faragoh
(Based on a novel by Mary Shelley)
A Horror classic! My first time seeing it. Watching older films like this I am always kind of unsure as to how to talk about them. I mean I can’t compare it to things of today so I have to take it in the context of 1931. But I wasn’t alive then so what do I know.
Everyone knows the story. Man re-animates a dead body, the monster breaks loose, a village erupts into chaos. Boris Karloff plays the iconic Monster. Finally watching this makes me appreciate the references in Young Frankenstein even more.
A fine film and one that can’t really be denied. It was been around for 80 years and is still being seen today for a reason.
